Joey, Nathan and Kelly continue their discussion and review of the Animaniacs reboot. This time they talk about the segments: "Warners Unbound," "How to Brain Your Dragon" and "Suffragette City." The segments featured in this episode lean more towards timeless themes, but will the hosts of the Animanicast cast their votes of approval or will this episode be cast down to Hades? Listen to find out!
It was a bad news week for the Animaniacs reboot. First there was a controversy involving Johnny Depp and then the Brain gave a number to an adult chat line. The hosts run down the embarrassing news headlines and offer some explanation as to what the writers would be thinking about when it comes to Johnny Depp.
The Warners are playing the part of Greek gods as they try to get back at Odysseus for splashing them with water. The trio can't seem to stop him until an orange cyclops (that looks and sounds like Trump) grabs Odysseus and treats him like a loofah. It's an amusing segment, but Joey thinks that it could have been a lot better if some roles were reversed.
Pinky and the Brain decide to train a dragon to do their bidding. Unfortunately the dragon is an aspiring actor. Will the Brain be able to successfully take over a kingdom, or will its bad acting get in the way?
Dot sings a song about the women's suffrage movement but then quickly starts singing about cartoon suffrage. It's a song that starts off promising and then quickly becomes a cartoon cameo fest. Find out what the hosts of the Animanicast think about this promising song that quickly ended up a disappointment.
The Animaniacs reboot has finally arrived and the hosts of the Animanicast can't wait to talk about it! Animaniacs returns with an updated theme song, new songs with the Warners, and a new Pinky and the Brain segment. There's lots of references to discuss and some new things to enjoy. How many water towers will this all new episode get?
Steven Spielberg (as John Hammond) comes out to tell the cast of Jurassic Park that he's "reanimated" the Warners. The trio jumps around a bit before starting the new theme song.
The theme song is back but with new lyrics. Dot has wit and there are no lyrics about any new characters. The hosts talk about Dot not being referenced as cute in the song even though her cuteness is referenced in the series.
The Warners return to the lot with no explanation as to where they've been for the past 22 years. Nathan shares some theories. Two songs are sung, one deals with the Warners' need to be updated on the latest trends and the other deals with reboots.
The Brain seeks to hypnotize the world using a hypnotic message on an internet video featuring the Brain dressed as a baby. But a video of Brain getting hurt repeatedly proves to be more popular. Will they be able to take over the world this time? No spoilers!
The new Animaniacs series is about to premiere so the Animanicast welcomes composers Steve and Julie Bernstein! The Bernsteins talk about working on the new series as well as reflect on working on the original series. They also answer some questions from listeners and even some questions from two people who worked on the original series with them!
Steve and Julie Bernstein join the hosts of the Animanicast to talk about their work on the new Animaniacs reboot as well as their work on the original series. Learn how the Bernsteins met, how they collaborate on projects, how they got started in cartoons and how they're still able to create fantastic musical scores during the COVID19 pandemic! Plus, some questions from listeners and two people that Steve and Julie know very well... Tom Ruegger and Paul Rugg!
Freakazoid had an apperance on Teen Titans Go! Joey, Nathan and Kelly do a quick review of the episode and talk about all of the references that they saw. Then the hosts discuss their initial thoughts after seeing five episodes of the new Animaniacs Reboot! What works? What doesn't? Will fans like the show? Find out what they think on today's episode!
Freakazoid on Teen Titans Go "Huggbees"
The Teen Titans are on a mission to stop "The Brain" from teaming up with the Lobe! In order to do it they unleash Freakazoid along with announcer Joe Leahy! Even Cosgrove (voiced by Ed Asner) returns to talk to Freakazoid all about different donuts. What's the plot? It's not important! What is important is comedy in this love letter to Freakazoid!
The hosts of the Animanicast were fortunate enough to see five episodes of the upcoming series. Without giving plot points away, the hosts talk about some of the aspects of the show they like and some of the things they don't. Overall they think that the show is good, although the episodes they saw didn't showcase much "timeless" content and might have provided too much commentary on current social events. While the hosts got used to the new designs of the Warners and animation style, the character designs of the humans can sometimes be distracting. One thing they all love is the music by Steve and Julie Bernstein (who by the way will be on our next episode!) In the end, the hosts worry that the internet is about to explode with positive and negative reactions to the show and ask that everyone is simply respectful of different opinions.
Join your hosts Joey, Nathan and Kelly in the "Animanicast!" A podcast dedicated to Animaniacs and its sister shows in the "Rueggerverse." Today the hosts review another episode of Freakazoid featuring the segments "In Arms Way" and "The Cloud." How many water towers will this episode of Freakazoid get?
It was recently announced that Tiny Toon Adventures would be rebooted with a two season order on HBO Max. Joey runs through some of the details and the unfortunate news that the creator of Tiny Toons, Tom Ruegger, was not asked to return. While acknowledging the need for some new writers and artists, Joey also expresses his disappointment in the overall situation. He suggests writing a respectful letter to Mr. Spielberg if any listeners feel that Tom should be given an opportunity to have some sort of role in the new series.

It’s another Christmas episode of Freakazoid as he looks for presents for his friends. Meanwhile, Arms Akimbo is selling "Oops! Insurance" and terrorizing anyone who refuses to pay the premium. Nathan describes the segment and gets some great gift ideas to give to Joey and Kelly for Christmas.
Kelly describes what happens in this segment following Freakazoid’s trip to a European village, where a mysterious cloud is turning mountain hikers into clowns. Freakazoid meets his friend Professor Heiny to discuss the new developments to Disneyland and to get to the bottom of the strange phenomenon.
