No Pain, No Painting

  • The Warners visit France with hopes to become models for Pablo Picasso. Picasso only wants to focus on finding a new style of art. Will the Warners help him find his new style?
  • This cartoon features some recreations of Picasso paintings as well as salutes to a member of the production team
  • Listen to your hosts talk about what they enjoyed about this cartoon and the connections they made to Young Indiana Jones and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. (They can't help themselves.)

Les Miseranimals

  • This is definetly, definitely the best Rita and Runt cartoon to date! Rita is being held captive outside a French restaurant and finds out that the chef wants to make meat pies from cats! WIll Runt be able to save her? Definitely.
  • This cartoon truly is a salute to Les Miserables. Listen to the similarities from the songs sung in this episode to the original cast recordings of Les Miserables.
  • Kelly fills us in on many of the details of Les Mis so that everyone gets a better appreciation of the episode.
  • Side note: Rita welcomes everyone to the French Revolution. The original story of Les Miserables doesn't take place during the French Revolution. Whoops!
  • Connections to Sweeney Todd and Monty Python are discussed.

This tenth episode features "King Yakko."

King Yakko

  • In the second Animaniacs episode to feature one plot line the Warner siblings go to Anvilania where Yakko is the heir to the throne. This zany episode features many references to the classic Marx Brothers film "Duck Soup" and features two actors from "This Is Spinal Tap." Listen to your hosts talk about their favorite lines and discuss the celebrity and pop cultural references that some folks today might not know. Does Nathan really not know who Bob Hope was?
  • Also... was that a bearded woman at the end?
  • Check out Tom Ruegger's blog to see Yakko get up close and personal with Prime Minister Nurse.

They discuss their favorite jokes, gags, and discuss all the cultural references they can find! Each episode is given a "Water Tower Rating" by the hosts. How many water towers will this episode get? This ninth episode features the segments "Wally Llama" and Pinky and the Brain with "Where Rodents Dare."

Check out RetroZap.com for additional show notes and to find other amazing podcasts!

Wally Llama

The Warners have a question that only Wally Llama can answer. Wally has other plans however and has decided that he will ask "no more questions" until he is done watching Baywatch. How will they convince him to answer their question? This cartoon is one of Kelly's favorites. Listen to find out why this segment is one of the best featuring the Warner siblings. Joey and Nathan  also make connections to Steve Martin movies.

Where Rodents Dare

  • Brain has a plan to take over the world! First, he will go to a meeting with world leaders and then he'll freeze them for 24 hours. He who controls the room, controls the world! Unfortunatly Pinky and the Brain have some difficulty as usual. First they have trouble accessing the party from the roof, then they almost get eaten by two baby eagles! This cartoon has some great running gags as well as some scenes your hosts totally forgot!
